A multilingual and user-centered website was developed for the UNICEF Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, serving as the official Parenting Hub for the region. The platform was built using Drupal, selected for its flexibility, robust content management capabilities, and strong support for internationalization and accessibility standards.
The website is designed to support parents, caregivers, and professionals with curated content focused on early childhood development, positive parenting, mental health, and child protection. It acts as a regional reference center for practical tools, multimedia resources, and evidence-based recommendations.
Key features include:
Multilingual architecture, allowing seamless navigation in Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese.
Dynamic content management, enabling UNICEF teams to publish, organize, and localize a wide range of articles, videos, downloadable materials, and featured campaigns.
Responsive and accessible design, ensuring optimal performance across all devices and compliance with WCAG accessibility standards.
Content filtering and search tools to facilitate access to specific resources by topic, language, or audience type.
Scalable structure, designed to accommodate future growth and collaboration with regional partners.
The solution was implemented following UNICEF’s branding and digital governance guidelines, ensuring alignment with their global digital ecosystem. Drupal’s content workflow and user roles were customized to allow decentralized content management while maintaining quality and consistency across the site.
This project strengthened UNICEF’s digital presence in the region and provided a vital platform to support families and professionals in improving child well-being.
